Trust in our nation’s foundational institutions, particularly government and media, is at a historic low.  Modern technology, with its proliferation of misinformation, plays a central role in this loss of faith, but there is much more to the story.

Misinformation fuels polarization and hate, and too often, amplifies conspiracies and incites violence.

Our speaker, Diane McFarlin, is one of the most respected and successful media leaders in Florida. Diane will help us navigate this new landscape so we can more accurately discern fact from fiction and foster a more constructive means of engaging with one another.



Join us as we welcome Diane McFarlin, former publisher of the Sarasota Herald Tribune and Dean Emeritus of the University of Florida College of Journalism and Communications.  She is looking forward to sharing her insights on modern information technology and helping us become more discerning consumers.
